New Reform Party Off To Confusing Start

On their new site they have the following statement-

“Thinking New Zealanders ask why successive Governments, socialist and conservative, continue to avoid reforms to improve our living standards, deliver equality and ensure financial security for all.”

Is it possible that one of the members of the Reform Party could identify this “Conservative government” and specify how it meets the definition of “Conservative”?

If this perceived Conservative government has been guilty of all of the same sins as its socialist opposition, then how can it possibly be Conservative?

And as for “delivering equality”??

What is that if not socialist claptrap?

That the new party is quite ready to post such a politically confusing statement on its home page does not bode well for its future. One would expect any new party to have the ability to express its political position coherently during its debut.

Reform Party.

“Reform Party” my ass–this is no more than another bunch of wannabes trying to climb on the same rickety old socialist wagon.

I guess you could say that a constitution that limits government is the best possible government document at delivering equality…

Namely everyone enjoys one vote and the same rights and protections from government… The rest is up to you… What could be more equal than that..?

How about “equality of all citizens before the law” rather than, say “economic equality”. It does sound odd for an ACT splinter to say, so I doubt they mean the latter.
